Shashamene

Shashamene went well. The kids there were so sweet, and the place where they lived was amazing. Cement domes! Alot like the thatched huts that the villagers live in, only they stay cooler in the summer. The frame work for these are like the geodesic domes that they keep the salt in back in St. Louis, only they are made with bamboo, plant leaves, and chickenwire. Then the inside and outside are then covered in cement. The country side was beautiful and very much like what Africa looks like in pictures. I cant wait to upload mine when I get home. No baboons or camels though. The baboons were on the other side of the lake so we missed those. Lots of goats, sheep, mules, cows and oxen though. Most of which were in the road as we were driving. Gods hand was on us yesterday though. We had a few near misses with animals in the road and passed several overturned vehicles and trucks on the way. On the way home we heard a loud "bang" and some screaming and looked up to see that the large truck directly in front of us had blown out its right front tire and was running off the road. He missed the 8 or 9 villagers that were walking alongside the road. Scary, but no one was hurt. At the end of the day we were tired and smelled like dirt, sweat and car exhaust. Fun.... im glad we went.
